All these years, I've boiled eggs the same way. But, I've just learned a money saving way to get the same results. Cover eggs with an inch of water. Toss in some salt, and get to a boil. Once the water is boiling, cover, and shut the stove off. Set the timer for 10 minutes. Run eggs under cold water to cool.
That's how I was taught to boil an egg, so now I'm curious - how did you used to do it?
ReplyDeleteI would boil it for 10 minutes with the cover off...always. That's how I was taught. Sounds like you were ahead of the game. I also read that you can keep the heat on low for 10 minutes, but that seems a waste now too.
