How to Boil an Egg

All these years, I've boiled eggs the same way.  But, I've just learned a money saving way to get the same results.  Cover eggs with an inch of water.  Toss in some salt, and get to a boil. Once the water is boiling, cover, and shut the stove off. Set the timer for 10 minutes. Run eggs under cold water to cool.

  1. That's how I was taught to boil an egg, so now I'm curious - how did you used to do it?

  2. I would boil it for 10 minutes with the cover off...always. That's how I was taught. Sounds like you were ahead of the game. I also read that you can keep the heat on low for 10 minutes, but that seems a waste now too.
    Thanks for your comment!
